CVETKOVSKA/SPIZZICHINO ART COLLECTIVE
This project intends to examine the subject of solitude through distinct social segments such as a profession or cultural background, integrating interactive practices. It is an exploration of the human psyche in all walks of life, from construction workers to creative professionals, from doctors to bus drivers, searching for patterns and analogies in their attitudes towards the idea of solitude. This project also strives to bring art and original expression to as much wider audience as possible, resonating meaningfully with different generations, individuals with extensive background in art or with no art background at all. Step one: online questionnaire The first part of the project includes an anonymous online questionnaire which asks participants to state their profession, age and country of origin, answering a simple question such as What does solitude mean to you? Once the questionnaire reaches a diverse and large amount of participants, the answers are collected and analyzed by the three artists together, looking for different links, similarities, patterns or discrepancies in the numerous ideas of solitude. The artists examine the results, generating a clear idea of their artistic approach to the concept of solitude, individually and based on the answers from the questionnaire. The art works are created in each of their own surroundings, producing photographs, videos, drawings and free verse creative text for a sound installation. Awards & Nominations: NoPlace4 Solitude.
